Tecla was born on October 9, 1926 to Frank and Martha Deichert. She was raised in the St. Gertrude area and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She married Ted Koenig and together they made their home south of Carson, on the Paradise Flats. She was a longtime member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and the Paradise Homemaker Club.

Tecla enjoyed family above all. The time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant everything to her. She made sure no one ever left her house emptyhanded. She tended her flowers and plants with great care. She also enjoyed a good card game as well as teaching anyone to play Scrabble.

Tecla will be deeply missed by her six children, James, Mark (special friend, Sharon), Linda (Ken) Busch, Theresa (Ward) Barnes, Carol (Bob) Miller, and Connie (Bruce) Smith; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren (one more on the way); brother and sister-in-law, Edmund and Delores Deichert; and sister-in-law, Joan Deichert.

Tecla was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents; daughter, Jeanette; daughter-in-law, Eileen; grandson, Mathew; and three siblings, Veronica, Ben, and Ralph.

Tecla’s gentle spirit will be missed by many. Memorials may be sent to the Carson Community Cemetery Fund, PO Box 303, Carson, ND, 58529.
