Johnnie Whisenhunt, 72, of Garrison, passed away December 6, 2020 at Benedictine Living Community, Garrison, ND.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. The service will be live streamed, and you can find the live stream on the Weigel Funeral Home website on Johnnie’s obituary page.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2020, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Johnnie Ray Whisenhunt was born on April 10, 1948, to Leon and Virginia (Hylton) Whisenhunt in Selma, California. He grew up in San Pablo, California, with his mom, brothers and sisters. In Johnnie’s earlier days, he worked as a shoe cobbler owning his business. When he wasn’t busy working, he enjoyed fishing, cars, working on electronics and working on vehicles.

Johnnie will be deeply missed by his children, John, Sara, Holly, and Gregory; nine grandchildren; siblings, Sue, Gary, Linda, and Cindy; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Virginia and Leon.
