Emanuel G. Ressler, 85, of Mandan, passed away December 21, 2020, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Pastor Kevin Zellers as officiant. Inurnment will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed on the Weigel Funeral Home website on Emanuel’s obituary page. Messiah Lutheran Church will also live-stream through their Facebook page and YouTube.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 27, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.
Due to current COVID-19 guidelines, there is a limited number of 20 people allowed in the chapel at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Please follow all current COVID-19 guidelines while attending the visitation and funeral service.
Emanuel Ressler grew up in Flasher, North Dakota, with 12 siblings. He enjoyed working alongside his family on their farm. He served in the Army as a specialist Heavy Vehicle Driver. He most enjoyed working at Red Owl grocery store and St. Alexius Medical Center and his yard service until his retirement. He loved camping, cooking, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family and friends. He took great pride in the landscaping of his beautiful yard and his business client’s yards. He was passionate when it came time to decorate for the Christmas season also. He will be remembered for the hard-working and dedicated individual that he was.
Emanuel is survived by his wife, Lorraine Riedemann-Ressler; daughters, Jodene (Mark Miller) of Mandan, Leslie Romero Ramirez of Salt Lake City, Utah; one grandchild Mason Romero Ramirez of Salt Lake City, Utah; siblings, Ray, Willie, Sally, Marlene, Glorine, and Maureen.
Emanuel was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph P. Ressler and Katharina Volk; brothers, Edward Ressler, Teddy Ressler, Leo Ressler, George Ressler; sisters, Alvina Ressler-Sakoff, Luella Ressler-Bearman.
Thank you to all the medical staff at St. Alexius that cared for Emanuel. We appreciate the kindness that was given to our father during his hospital stay.
