Eleanor Aman, 81, of Mandan, passed away March 26, 2021 at St. Gabriel’s Community, Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial to follow at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Eleanor was born on February 23, 1940 to George and Maggie (Heinert) Schmidt in Mandan. Eleanor married John Aman on October 6, 1959 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Together they made their home on the Aman Family Farmstead in rural Oliver County. Where they raised their four children, Suzanne, Tony, Mary, Lisa. In 1997, they moved to Mandan following their retirement.
Eleanor had many talents when it came to using her hands. She was talented at sewing, canning, and gardening. She especially loved her flower beds. Another great love that she had was for her grandchildren.
Eleanor will be deeply missed by her husband, John Aman; children, Suzanne (Jeff) Cahill, Tony (special friend, Sally Johnson) Aman, Mary (Rick) Henke, Lisa (Kent) Doll; grandchildren, Ross (Hailey) Aman, Rebecca (Matthew) Krueger, Michael (Samantha) Henke, Tristen (fiancé, Kirby) Henke, Ethan Doll, Colin (special friend, Janie) Cahill; great-grandchildren, Priya Krueger, Winslet Krueger, McKinlee Henke, Emrie Henke; sisters, Leona Beehler, Linda Strandemo, Beatrice (Ron) Deuel, Kathy (Dennis) Kittleson, Nancy (special friend, Bruce) Schmidt; brothers, Bob (Shirley) Schmidt, Jim (Isabelle) Schmidt, Eugene (Pam) Schmidt; brother-in-law, Albert (Betty) Kostelecky; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Powell; and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Schmidt; parents-in-law, Kasper and Mary Aman.
