Brandon Thomsen

August 9, 2003 — August 9, 2019

Brandon Marvin Thomsen, 16, Bismarck, went to be with the Lord Jesus on June 19, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

A Celebration of Brandon’s life will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck, ND on Thursday, June 27 at 10:30 AM.  Visitation will be held at Weigel Funeral Home, 309 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND, on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck, ND.

Brandon was a caring and compassionate young man with a marvelous sense of humor. A huge Batman fan, he loved his movie nights with Mom and family get togethers. He loved creating things with his hands, whether it was building complex Lego structures when he was younger, cooking or woodworking. He cherished the moments he spent working on cars with his Dad and was particularly proud when he got his first deer this past hunting season. Recently, he, his brother Aaron, cousins and a friend discovered the game Rock Band and joked about the band that they had formed. He was totally devoted to his 1 year old nephew Camdon, playing with him every chance he got.

Brandon’s devotion to others was shown when he told his mother that when he gets his drivers license he wanted to be listed as an organ donor. As a result, more than 4 families were blessed by his loving sacrifice of donation after a severe asthma attack shortened his time here on earth.

Brandon was greeted in heaven by his great-grandfather, Marvin Klein, Glen Ullin; great- grandparents, Otto and Zella Thomsen, Baldwin; great-grandfather, Victor Pedersen; aunt, Lynell; and uncle, Christopher.

Left to honor his life are his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Chris Bjerklie, Bismarck; father and stepmother, Travis and Wanda Thomsen, Steele; sister, Brooklyn (Christian) Seime, Bismarck; brother and best friend, Aaron Thomsen, Bismarck; stepsister, Riley Beth Hill, Bismarck; stepbrother, Early; stepsister, Rebecca; nephew, Camdon Seime, Bismarck; grandparents Cal (Sue) Pedersen, Bismarck; Cindy Klein (Marc Jurek), Mandan; Roger (Sandy) Thomsen, Baldwin; uncles Jeremy (Rebecca) Pedersen, Bismarck; Casey (Jeannie) Kraft, Baldwin; and cousins Abby and Kiana Kraft, Baldwin; Samantha, Sean and Alex Pedersen, Bismarck; and numerous other relatives, friends, and classmates.
