William Ferderer

William E. Ferderer, 89, Mandan, died November 9, 2014 in Bismarck at his daughters home with his family around him holding his hand.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 11 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Bill was born on August 14, 1925 to Christian and Katherine (Doll) Ferderer in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in Mandan. Bill was drafted into the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served his country proudly. Bill married the love of his life, Mary Lou Wheeler who he called “Dearie” on April 20, 1953 in Laurel, MT.

Bill and Mary Lou made their home in Mandan where they raised their family and where Bill was a machinist at Standard Oil/Amoco for 34 years. Bill was an outgoing and friendly man that had a great sense of humor and if you were his friend you knew there was no gray area with Bill, he was always upfront and honest with everyone. He was a strong and independent man that loved his family dearly. Bill’s parting words were “St. Peter, here I come.”

Bill will be deeply missed by his daughter, Robon (Bruce) Meyhoff, Bismarck; son, Nicholas (Sharon), Port Orchard, WA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou in 2007; sisters, Clara (Armond) Pederson, Phyllis (Charlie) Parkerhurst and Regie (Vern) Bimer and brother, Nick (Frances).

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan Eagles or The Salvation Army.
