Wayne Frohlich, 90, passed away on May 21, 2023, at Edgewood Care Center in Mandan, ND.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 25, at 10:30 AM at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant. A luncheon will follow the service at the Mandan Eagles Club at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with rosary/parish vigil at 7:00 PM.
Wayne J. Frohlich was born May 15, 1933, to Fred & Barbara (Rothschiller). He attended school in Mandan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Upon discharge he started his career as a truck driver.
He was joined in marriage to Linda Wolf on October 8, 1953. The two of them loved to dance, play cards, were very active with the Mandan Eagles & loved camping with their 4 sons. They rarely missed a weekend. Once they retired, they spent winters in Arizona & Texas until Linda’s passing in 2000.
He is survived by Larry (Vivian), Bismarck, Randy (Rita), Mandan, Terry (Kandi), Tomball, Texas, & Bruce, Mandan; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. His sister Eileen (Ron) Geiger, Richland WA, sisters-in-law Jeanette Wheeler, Tacoma, WA, Darlene Heck, Puyallup, WA, brother-in-law James (Eileen) Wolf, New Salem, many nieces & nephews, childhood/lifelong friend John Schmidt, & special friend & companion Marlene Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, his parents, his brother Jerry & sister Lou, sisters-in-law Ann Stumpf, Betty Leingang, Anita Frohlich, brothers-in-law, Harold (Donnie) Wolf, Joe Leingang, Frank Stumpf, George Heck, Gene Wheeler, & Kenny Johnson.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dale Klein for taking care of dad for many years, the staff at Edgewood, especially Jaslyn & her staff in Memory Care for their wonderful care & support, also the hospice care provided by Caring Edge.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Mandan Veteran’s Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
