Wayne (Duke) John Berger, 62, Mandan, died March 25, 2016 at his residence in Mandan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Wayne (Duke) John Berger was born on January 13, 1954 to Adam and Angeline Berger in Bismarck, ND. Wayne attended St. Joseph School as a child and graduated from Mandan High School. Wayne worked for the Mandan Public School Administration for many years.
Wayne was a very kind gentle person. He was quiet in nature and the focus of his life was his family. Wayne had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He loved to spend time with his four brothers, fishing and hunting at their lake cabin. Wayne’s great nephew, Theodore, held a special place in Wayne’s heart and he loved spending time with him. Wayne also had a very special relationship with his mother Angeline; she was the center of his life. He took exceptional care of her and loved her very much.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Left to remember Wayne are his mother, Angeline Berger, Mandan, ND; sister, Susan “Sue” Helm, Bismarck, ND; brothers, Lenus (Alice), Bill (Micki), Terry and Adam (Tami) Berger all of Mandan, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Adam Berger; sister, Ella Kitzman and nieces, Marguerite and Bobbie Jo Berger.
