Wanda Wiest

Wanda Wiest, 87, of Mandan passed away on January 15, 2020, in a Bismarck hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND.  Burial will be held at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home with a Rosary/Vigil Service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Wanda was born on May 2, 1932 to Donald Alex and Alice (McLean) Nicholson in Bismarck, ND where she was raised and educated.

On November 13, 1954 she married Robert Wiest. In her early years she worked at the capital in the insurance department doing office work.  For the last 45 years she did daycare and loved all the kids she took care of. She loved watching game shows, baking, and playing cards with her friends.  Roller skating was also a big part of their life.

Wanda will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Debra Wiest of Bismarck and Sherry (Don) Viall of Sydney, MT; grandchildren, Stephanie Rudolph, Jason Rudolph,  Josh (Jess) Viall, Ashley (Dan) Pollock, Danielle Wiest and Brittany Wiest; great-grandchildren, Tahler, Dante, Jaiden and Aubrey Rudolph, Emma and Landon Pollock, and Adaline Rudolph; two sisters, Isabelle (Ray) Schlosser of Mandan and Donna Rolfe of Atwater, CA; and one brother, Don (Mary) Nicholson of MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wiest; son, Don Wiest; granddaughter, Angela Rudolph; parents, Donald and Alice Nicholson; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Ervin Mantz.
