Valerie Ann Olheiser

September 5, 1956 — March 20, 2024

Valerie Ann Olheiser, 67, of Mandan, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2024, at her home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Pastor Phil Leer officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Valerie was born in Gary, Indiana on September 5, 1956, to Chester and Stephanie Tokarz. She grew up there with her younger siblings, Steven and Nancy. Valerie went to Merrivelle High School where she was a cheerleader and then attended college at Menomenno Stout in Wisconsin.  In November of 1993, Valerie married Richard Olheiser.

Valerie enjoyed many hobbies, and everything she did, she did with her whole heart. She loved to bake, especially around Christmas; and she loved to share her grandmother’s Christmas cookie recipes with all. She loved planting flowers and tending to her plants; she took great pride in the beauty she created for her home. She loved animals with her entire being: dogs, especially her Cinnamon, cats, and even the deer, squirrels, and birds she fed in her backyard. She was the strongest woman we knew, with the biggest heart for everyone she knew.

Valerie is survived by her daughter, Alyssa and her husband of 30 years, Richard. She is also survived by her mother, Stephanie; brother, Steven (Jill); sister, Nancy (Glenn); niece, Amelia; mother and father-in-law, Wilma and Leo Baumgartner; siblings in-law, Sandy (Keith) Miller, Dennis (Gloria) Olheiser, Sharon Olheiser, and Jim Olheiser; as well as her nieces and nephews, Chris Miller, Keenan Miller, Elisha Miller, John Olheiser, and Amber Olheiser.

Valerie was preceded in death by her dad, Chester Tokarz; her son, Allen Olheiser; and her father-in-law, John Olheiser.
