Thomas A. Schlosser, 62, Mandan, died April 29, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Mandan VFW Post #707 and American Legion Post #40.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 4:00-9:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Moose Ritual at 6:30 pm with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Tom was born on November 18, 1951 to JP and Rose (Bauer) Schlosser in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in Mandan. He was in the United States Navy from 1969-1975. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Mandan where he married Maggie Leingang on September 12, 1975 in Mandan. They made their home in Mandan where they raised their 3 daughters. Tom worked for Front Street Mill works as a carpenter for over 20 years he was a very talented craftsman and did many of the specialty and service work for Front Street during his career.

Tom’s family was central in his life and very important to him especially his grandson, Hunter. He also looked forward to “Brother Breakfast” which were a special time to be with his family. Family gatherings were usually large in number and generous amounts of food. He was a very reserved soft spoken man but when he spoke it was usually important and people paid attention to what he had to say. Tom enjoyed gardening and traveling to South Dakota or Nevada. He was a member of the Mandan Moose Club and the Mandan Eagles.

Tom will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Maggie of 38 years; daughters, Stephanie (Randall) Stoeberl, Spring Creek, NV., Tiffany Schlosser, Mandan, ND and Britnie (Joel) Thieschafer, Champlin, MN; 1 grandson, Hunter Stoeberl, Spring Creek, NV; sisters, Dot Frohlich, Mandan, Marlene (Donald) Geiger, Mandan, Carol Kuntz, Bismarck, Geri (Gary) Jorde, Mandan, Shirley (Dan) Voigt, Flasher, Mary Lou (Sparky) Pulkrabek, Mandan and Jackie (Calvin) Schmidt, Mandan; brothers, Ron(Virginia), Mandan, Les (Margaret), Eagle Creek, OR, Bob (Diane), Mandan, Lee (Gloria), Mandan, Perry (Bonnie),Mandan, Bill (Gayle), St. Anthony and Rick (Doris) Schlosser, Mandan; brothers-in-law, Luke Leingang, Leonard Leingang, Robert Leingang all from Mandan and Bob Thomas of Bismarck along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Barbara Liengang; brother Dennis; brother –in-law, John Frohlich and sister-in-law, Theresa Thomas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to nieces, Robin Axtmann and Shelly Thompson along with special friends, JoAnn Wetsch and Ken and Lori Kottsick for all their love and support during Tom’s illness.
