Theresa Ann Duford

Theresa Ann Duford, 58, Mandan, passed away December 30, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society – Sunset Drive, Mandan, due to complications from a traumatic brain injury.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Theresa was born October 11, 1965, in Mandan, the daughter of William and Mary Luanne Huber. She grew up in Mandan, often found on Collins Avenue with her neighborhood friends or in the pool.  Swimming was a great passion for Theresa. She swam varsity in high school for the Mandan Braves and later went on to coach both Bismarck and Bismarck Century’s boys swim teams for several years.  Theresa graduated from Mandan High School in 1983, and through her love of learning, graduated with both her nursing degree and a masters in nursing (FNP).  Theresa loved the water and was able to see the oceans in Florida and Hawaii.  Theresa was blessed with two daughters, Natalie and Micki, who were the highlight of her life. She could often be heard talking about how proud she was of them.  Theresa met and fell in love with Dave Duford, and they were married in 2019. Their years together were short but meaningful.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Dave Duford, of Mandan; two daughters and their families, Natalie, Scott, Ireland, and William Reiter, of Fargo and Micki, Chris, Kit, Arlo, Gus, and Joan Dykshoorn, of Menoken; and her siblings, Jeff and Connie Huber, Dave and Christina Huber, Greg and Margaret Huber, Diane Huber, and MJ and Mark Gaisford.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Luanne Huber; her grandson, Cormac Dykshoorn; and her beloved dog, Isaac.
