Bismarck

Shirley Ann Bordeaux, 76, of Bismarck, North Dakota, began her journey to the spirit world on October 14, 2026, passing peacefully at home with the love of her family surrounding her.

Originally from Mission, South Dakota, Shirley was proud of her Lakota roots. She attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, studying business and finance, and went on to have a successful career at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, where she served as Dean of Finance and Business Services and Vice President of Finance.

Shirley had a special love for animals, particularly her beloved Bengal cat. She also enjoyed watching the wild turkeys visit her yard, always making sure there was feed waiting for them.

Family was always the most important part of Shirley’s life. She and Marilyn shared more than 40 years together, building a life filled with memories and being there for one another through the years. Shirley was also the mother of Ann Marie Bordeaux, who preceded her in death in 2006. Her family finds comfort in believing that she has now been reunited with Annie and the loved ones who made their journey before her.

One of Shirley’s greatest and most lasting roles was being a grandmother. She helped raise her granddaughter, Vanessa, and had a lasting influence on the woman she became. To Vanessa, Shirley wasn’t just a grandmother. She was a constant presence, a source of guidance, and someone whose impact will carry on for a lifetime. Shirley also shared a special bond with Vanessa’s husband, Brock, who helped care for her throughout the years. She loved him dearly and was incredibly thankful for the care and support he gave her.

Shirley was also a proud great-grandmother to Clifford and Presley Mallory. Both held a special place in her heart, and the memories they shared with her will always be treasured.

Shirley’s life was made up of so much more than dates and accomplishments. It was the people she influenced, the family she helped raise, and the memories she leaves behind.

As Shirley continues her journey to the spirit world, may she be reunited with those who have gone before her and find eternal peace. Her love and spirit will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

At her request, no formal services will be held.
