Sandra Sagmiller, 66, of Mandan, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Christina Martin officiating. Burial of the urn will be at a later date.
Sandra Kathy Sagmiller was born June 3, 1952 in Bismarck, ND to Fred and Ann (Henry) Hoesel. She attended grade school at Manley, ND in rural Oliver County, then Center High School and earned her diploma in 1969. Sandy married Roy Hagel on November 8, 1968, in Center, ND and they had one child together, Scott Hagel. She married Greg Sagmiller on October 21, 1988, in Mandan and together they had one child, Richard Sagmiller.
She worked at Trucks of Bismarck as an office manager establishing her career path. She was a Partner of J & S Tax Service for 17 years working as an accountant and tax preparer. She worked for Dykshoorn Greenhouse as manager and later opened and operated her own greenhouse in Mandan during the off seasons of preparation. She enjoyed serving her community.
As she would finish tax season, soon the floral season was open to continuing her work. Being outdoors and in the garden was her favorite pastime, fresh fruits and vegetables, varieties of petunias, cone flowers. At the local farmers markets, she and her brother would sell the produce they raised from their family farm. She enjoyed quilting and creating warm gifts for her family. She was caring, loving, she was a cornerstone.
Left with many memories are her sons, Scott (Beth) Hagel of Vadnais Heights, MN, and Richard (Jennifer) Sagmiller of Mandan; one sister, Beverly Wicklund of Eagan, MN; nephew, John Wicklund of Eagan, MN; two grandchildren, Ben Hagel and Sam Hagel both of Vadnais Heights, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ann Hoesel; and her brother, Donald Hoesel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Dakota Humane Society, 2104 37th St, Mandan, ND 58554.
