Patricia Lang

June 26, 1939 — April 30, 2026

Patricia Ann Lang, 86, of Bismarck, formerly of Minot and Mandan, passed away April 30, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home.

Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. Burial will follow the service at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will open to the public one hour prior to the service at Weigel Funeral Home.

Patricia was born June 26, 1939, in Mandan, North Dakota, to Anton and Theresa (Miller) Mann. She was raised and educated in St. Anthony until the age of nine, when her family moved to Mandan. She attended Mandan High School through the eleventh grade and continued to make her home in Mandan until 1977. Following her schooling, Patricia worked as a waitress at various establishments.

In 1958, Patricia married George Butler. They were blessed with three children: Kevin, Monte, and Stacy. The family lived in Wyoming from 1966 to 1967 before returning to Mandan. Patricia and George later divorced in July of 1977.

In 1978, Patricia moved to Minot. She was united in marriage to Robert Lang in February 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they enjoyed spending time at casinos, fishing year-round—even during the winter months—and tending to gardening. Patricia was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minot, the Moose Club, and the VFW Auxiliary. Robert passed away in September 2018 at the age of 84.

Patricia continued living in Minot, working part-time as a waitress and bartender. In 2024, as her health and memory declined, she made the difficult decision to give her beloved cats to her friend, Sue Duchscherer. She then moved to Edgewood Assisted Living in Minot. Shortly thereafter, she experienced a medical episode that required a two-week stay in the ICU. Following her recovery, she resided at Minot Health and Rehab before moving six months later to Good Samaritan Society – St. Vincent’s Nursing Home in Bismarck, where she remained until her passing.

Patricia will be remembered for her hardworking spirit and her enjoyment of simple pleasures, including fishing, gardening, and time spent with family.

She is survived by her son, Monte Butler; her sister, Lorna Scovil; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; along with extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Theresa Mann; her brothers, Wayne Mann and Donald Mann; her husbands, George Butler and Robert Lang; her son, Kevin Butler; her daughter, Stacy Butler; her stepsons, Terry Lang and Doyle Lang; her stepdaughter, Robin Adams; and her step-grandson, Chris Adams.
