Mark was born in Elbowoods, ND, on October 31, 1938, the fourth of 14 children and the oldest of the ten sons to Frank and Emma (Gress) Voigt. Mark ranched with his family at Elbowoods until 1951, when the family relocated to Mandan due to the construction of the Garrison Dam. When Mark’s father, Frank passed away in 1959, Mark stayed on the ranch and helped his mother, Emma, and continued ranching with his brothers. Mark was a rancher all of his life.
Mark greatly enjoyed the company of his dog, Buddy. He was in an “Old Timers” pool league, did welding of horseshoe art, and enjoyed fishing trips with friends and taking his nephews and nieces fishing on the creeks around the ranch.
Mark is survived by his brothers, Tom, Frank, Richard (Connie), Dan, and George (Patti); sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard, Charles, Dale, and Allan; sisters, Vivian Voigt, Marlene (Tom) Zander, Mary Ann (Mervin) Brown, and Elaine Hensley.
May Mark Rest in Peace with the Lord.
