Mabel Beckler

Mabel L. Beckler, 73, Mandan, passed away December 25, 2016 at Sanford Continuing Care Center off Collins in Mandan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery following the funeral service.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Mabel was born on May 26, 1943 to Rose Borgan in Baudette, MN. She was raised and educated in the Baudette, MN area. Mabel married Joseph Beckler on March 24, 1962 in Thief River Falls, MN. Joe was in the United States Army and upon his discharge they moved to Mandan, ND. Mabel was a reserved and private lady who loved her family and put them above all else. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked for a short time as a day care assistant but found she enjoyed taking care of her family more. Mabel also loved to embroider, crochet and make crafts with her grandchildren. Mabel was a kind and loving woman and will be missed by all.

Mabel will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Joseph; daughter, JoAnn (Tim) Conmy, Fargo, ND; son, Joseph, Jr. (Karen) Beckler, Mandan, ND; 3 grandchildren, Krystal Beckler, Whitney Conmy and Brianna Conmy (Zachary Sherritt) and brother-in-law, Howard Bowers, Phoenix, AZ.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Ann (Frank) Scheffknecht, Esther (Norman) Briese, Peggy Bowers and Pam Butler and brother, Bill (Louise) Egdorf.
