Lynn Marie Weiand

Lynn Marie Weiand, 72, Mandan, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at Miller Pointe Care Center in Mandan. Private family services will be held. Burial will take place at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery.

Lynn was born December 21, 1951, to George Sr. and Kathleen (Berger) Rennich in Mandan. She grew up in Mandan where she graduated from Mandan High School and then attended the University of Mary.

On May 15, 1971, Lynn married Kenneth Weiand at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mandan upon his return from Vietnam. Together they made their home in Mandan where they raised their two children, Chris and Melanie. Lynn worked as a Candy Striper at the Mandan Hospital before becoming a Respiratory Technician. She returned to school for Business Management where she graduated Valedictorian while still maintaining her job as a Respiratory Tech where she continued for over 40 years until retirement in 2016.

Lynn loved to read and do crossword puzzles and her Bingo night outings. She and Ken enjoyed traveling to different casinos around the region.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Ken, Mandan; son, Chris; daughter, Melanie (Ian) Flanders; two grandchildren, Maysa and Alec; along with her three brothers, Geroge Jr., Dave, and John; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary.
