Lottie Pitzer, 86, Mandan, passed away October 5, 2013 with her family by her side at St. Gabriel’s Community in Bismarck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Jerome Kautzman as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm.

Scholastica (Lottie) Boehm was born October 18, 1926 in Morton County to Alexander and Elizabeth (Matz) Boehm. Although she was given the name Scholastica, it was difficult for her siblings to pronounce as children, so she became known as Lottie, which she was fondly called for the rest of her life. She was raised and educated in rural Morton County. On October 17, 1949 Lottie married Richard J. Pitzer in Mandan. She worked for 27 years in the meat department at Bill’s Super Valu before retiring. Family was very important to Lottie, especially family gatherings. She was an avid fan of and cheered on her children and grandchildren at their various sporting events. Lottie also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and working in her flower garden brought much enjoyment. She belonged to Christ the King Catholic Church in Mandan for many years.

Lottie will be deeply missed by her son, Dr. Randy (Peggy) Pitzer, Williston, ND; daughter, Vicki (Jeff) Boehnke, Kramer, ND; grandchildren, Aubree (Joe) Leiser, Moorhead, MN; Brandon (Katie) Pitzer, Superior, CO; Jared (Jessie) Boehnke, Kramer, ND; and Chelsea (Nate) Jaeger, Horace, ND; great-grandchildren, Hayden & Mason Leiser, Bobbi Jo Boehnke, Sean Pitzer and Baby Jaeger (due April 2014); brothers, Frank (Angie) Boehm, Philip (Ceacilia) Boehm, and Eugene (Vivian) Boehm, all of Mandan; sisters-in-law, Irene Boehm, Billings, MT; Lucille Boehm, Lorraine Boehm, and Alice Boehm, all of Mandan; brother-in-law, Julius (Dorothy) Beehler, Mandan; and her neighbor and friend of 53 years, Myrna Peterman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lottie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard on June 14, 1989; brothers, Joseph, Clemens; Michael and Thomas; sisters, Rose (Leonard) Pitzer, Mary (Donald) Suchy and Angie Beehler
