Loretta Friedt, 76, Mandan, passed away May 4, 2018 at her residence in Mandan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Goin as celebrant. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the service.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Rosary and Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Loretta Friedt was born on November 26, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan to Wendelin and Amelia (Walker) Feist. Loretta graduated from high school with a high school diploma and went on to marry August Friedt on October 7, 1961. Over the years, the couple welcomed four children into the world, Laurice, August (“Sam”), Joel, and Daniel.
Loretta enjoyed gardening and baking, which included professional wedding cakes and elaborately decorated cookies that she would make for the holidays. Loretta worked several jobs through the years, including four years at a nursing home as a CNA, seven years at a meat market as a meat cutter, and for several years as a daycare provider. Loretta was a woman of many talents and ambitions and she will be missed by all of her family and friends. She will be remembered for her big gardens, love for flowers, large angel collection, never ending hugs, beautiful smile, generosity and love she showed to everyone.
Loretta will be deeply missed by her husband, August, Mandan; her children, Laurice Mosbrucker, Mandan, August “Sam” Friedt, Bismarck, Joel (Charlotte) Friedt, Baldwin, ND, and Daniel Friedt, Mandan; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ann (Dean) Simons, Columbus, MT; her brothers, George (Linda) Feist, Bismarck, Jack (Sadie) Feist, Mandan, Clayton (Jane) Feist, Mandan, Leonard (Patricia) Feist, Sundance, WY, and Robert (Cindy) Feist, Bismarck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wendelin and Amelia (Walker) Feist.
