Leo Snider, 90, passed away June 15, 2024, at his home in the presence of his family. 

Per Leo’s wishes, a private family service will be held. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. 

Leo was born September 25, 1933, in Fort Yates, ND, to Louis and Rose (Thomas) Snider. On January 6, 1956, he married Audrey Boehm and they had three children, Duane, Doug, and Debra.

Leo served the citizens of Mandan and Morton County for 41 years. He worked at Mandan Police Department from 1961 to 1974. Leo was elected as Morton County Sheriff in 1974 and served seven terms, retiring in 2003, after 28 years as Sheriff. 

Leo is survived by his children, Duane Snider and Doug Snider of Mandan and Debra (Robert) Parsons of McClusky; two grandchildren, Jason Parsons of McClusky and Megan Snider of Mandan; one great grandson, Baylee Parsons of Minot; and one brother, Pete Snider of Mandan.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; his parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters; grandson, Paul Parsons; and daughter-in-law, Toni Snider.
