Lawrence (Larry) Sellers

December 27, 1953 — April 10, 2018

Lawrence (Larry) Sellers, Jr., died April 10, 2018, at Miller Pointe in Mandan, after a brief battle with cancer.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Weigel Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant.  Family welcomes friends and family Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM prior to the service for visitation.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Larry was born December 27, 1953, to Lawrence and Antoinette (Ann) Sellers, in French Morocco, North Africa, where his father was stationed in the military. He grew up and attended schools in Minot, ND. He attended Dickinson State College and completed the Highway Transportation program in 1977.

He married Julie Dolajak in October of 1978, in Bismarck. He has two sons from this marriage, Eric Michael, in 1979, and Justin Robert in 1980. Shortly after Justin was born, they moved to Dickinson where Larry worked in the oil industry.

In the late 1980’s Larry moved to Florida, where he became a certified scuba diving instructor. He enjoyed this work until hurricane Andrew in 1992, and then moved back to North Dakota. For the remainder of his life, he did long distance truck driving and short hauling for various companies. He was working for M-Bar-D, in Fargo, at the time of his cancer diagnosis in November.

He loved martial arts, training at the North Wind Aikikai dojo in Fargo for many years. His favorite past time was watching movies, especially martial arts movies.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Sellers, Minot & son, Eric, Bismarck.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Sellers, Sr. & son, Justin Sellers (2011).
