Kathryn Leier, 98, Mandan, died October 31, 2013 at Sanford Living Center on Sunset, Mandan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Johnson Kuriappilly as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Kathryn Johner was born on August 18, 1915 in Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada to George and Catherine (Stark) Johner. She was raised and educated in Bismarck graduating from St. Mary’s High School. Kathryn married Joseph Leier on August 31, 1941 in Bismarck. To this union a daughter, Sandra was born. Kathryn was a loving wife and caring mother. She enjoyed playing Bridge with the Ladies’ Group and never turned down a round of golf. In later years, Kathryn liked to travel to wherever Sandra lived. She loved fishing in Canada and Wisconsin. Family was important to Kathryn. Spending holidays, especially Christmas, with family are memories she cherished.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hanson, Sun Lakes, AZ; grandchildren, JJ Hanson and Lindsey Bradstreet; and one great-grandchild, Riley Bradstreet.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1998 and brother, Thomas Johner.
