Judith Elaine Heck (Sullivan), age 83, of Mandan, North Dakota, passed away peacefully with her family by her side and entered eternal rest with the Lord. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Kenneth Heck, and her son, Kenny Heck Jr.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, January 23rd at Weigel Funeral Home with Deacon Dennis Rohr officiating. Burial will follow in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Judith, lovingly known as Judy, was born on January 25, 1942, in Fort Rice, North Dakota. She was the youngest of eight children born to Michael and Emma (Burns) Sullivan and was raised in the Stanton–Hazen area.

On May 12, 1962, Judy married the love of her life, Kenneth Heck, in Mandan, North Dakota. Together they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with four children: Laurie, Judy Ann, Kenny Jr., and Tina. Mandan became their lifelong home, where they built a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and family.

Family and friends meant everything to Judy. She especially enjoyed playing bingo, spending many cherished weekends at the family cabin in Fort Rice, and the companionship of her beloved cat, Ella. Judy took great pride in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all they did and was always their biggest cheerleader.

Judy began her career as a CNA at St. Alexius Hospital in 1960. In 1963, she chose to become a stay-at-home mother, devoting herself fully to raising her children. In 1980, she returned to her calling as a caregiver at the Baptist Home, where she met her best friend of 43 years, Julie Raney. Judy took great pride in her work and truly loved caring for others. She retired in 2009.

Left with beautiful and cherished memories are her children: Laurie (Craig) Walcker, Judy (Gerald) Schumacher, and Tina (Reid) Vogel, all of Mandan; her grandchildren, Bradley (Ash) Nelson, Sara (Devin) Rogers, Kyler (Maddie) Vogel, and Kenna (Brett) Vogel; and her great-grandchildren, Kali and Khloe Vogel. She is also survived by her siblings, Emma Fedie, Jerry Sullivan, and Mike (Annette) Sullivan, and her very best friend, Julie Raney.

Judy was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Michael and Emma (Burns) Sullivan; her in-laws, Pete and Mabel Heck; her beloved husband, Kenneth Heck; her son, Kenny Heck Jr.; and many loved family members, including Bridget Flemmer; Pat and Marlene Sullivan; Larry and Mary Burns; Winnie and Adolf Kopp; June Sullivan; Duane and Ida Heck; Richard and Karen Heck; George and Darlene Heck; Freddy and Elsie Heck; Bob and Irene Heck; and Rosella White.
