John Edward was born on February 11, 1978, to George and Alice (Taylor) Schwartzbauer, Jr. in Mandan, ND. He attended Christ the King School, Mandan High School and Bismarck State College.

On July 3, 2004, he was set up on a blind date by friends, this is where he met the love of his life, Melissa Anglin. They were united in marriage on October 6, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

John was hard working and loved his job as a lineman at Montana Dakota Utilities. He started his career in Grand Island, NE before working in Wolf Point, MT; Glen Ullin, ND; and Bismarck, ND; eventually, being able to be closer to family.

John always enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.  He was most proud to be a father of three amazing boys: Cooper John, and twins, Hunter George and Conner Allen.  John was easy going, caring, and knew how to have fun. Always there to lend a helping hand, he was a jack of all trades and would often rearrange his schedule to help family and friends.  Hunting and fishing on the Missouri River or Lake Sakakawea was a great adventure with John too.  As an avid sports fan, he loved watching football especially his favorite team, the Chicago Bears. His legacy of love, faith, giving, and laughter will be carried out in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved John. John’s generosity lives on, even in his death, as he gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

With much love he will be remembered as a true friend with a ready smile and joyful laugh, John will be deeply missed by his wife, Melissa; children, Cooper John (8) and twins, Conner and Hunter (6); mother, Alice;  sisters, Mary Lou (Craig) Fluto of Mandan, Sue (Billy) Fisher of Mandan and their children, Brian (Brad Bond), Ashley (Tyler) Hruby, (great nephew due in February) and Taylor, and Glenda (Doug) Duppong of Mandan and their  children, Austin and Katelyn; brothers, Allen of Mandan and his twin, Jim (Rhonda) of Mandan and their children, Jamison Mindt, Tate, Tucker, and Riley; father and mother-in-law, George and Melanie Anglin; brothers-in-law, Clint (Laurel) Anglin and their daughter, Taytum, and Jarred (Becky) Anglin and their children, Jaxson, Amelia, and Carter as well as special friends, Bill and Donna Fisher and everyone in his MDU family.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Jr.; and grandparents George and Louise Schwartzbauer, Sr. and Glen and Katherine Taylor.
