Helen Stauss

Helen Stauss, 92, of Mandan, ND passed away October 7, 2022 at Edgewood Vista in Mandan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, October 13th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan.  Inurnment will be held in Glen Ullin, ND.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service on Thursday at the church.

Helen Rose was born on Feb. 1, 1930 in New Salem, ND to the late Harry and Rose (Meuchel) Doll.  She attended New Salem schools graduating in 1949 and shortly after began her career as a rural school teacher. Helen married Wilbert Stauss on July 18, 1951, at St. Pius Catholic Church in New Salem. Helen and Wilbert moved to Dickinson, ND where she worked and retired from Montana Dakota Utilities. Helen and Wilbert traveled and spent winters in Yuma, Arizona. Wilbert died in 1994. Helen then eventually moved to Mandan to Edgewood Vista Mandan until her death.

Helen is survived by her brother, Eugene Doll, Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; brothers, Jacob and Nicholas Doll; and sister, Katherine Stauss.
