Geraldine (Fleck) Friesz was born November 26, 1946, to Mike and Katie (Steckler) Fleck.  Geraldine was born and raised in Flasher.  She graduated from Flasher High School in 1965.  Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life, Leonard Friesz.  They were married June 22, 1968, in Flasher. Together they started raising their family on the Fleck farm and later moved into the home Leonard built in Flasher.  Geraldine’s loving husband passed away in January 1997.  In 2003, Geraldine moved to Beulah to be closer to her daughter, where she continued to live until 2021 when she moved into Augusta Place in Bismarck.

As a proud homemaker she enjoyed cooking and baking.  She would always make homemade doughnuts whenever the kids needed a special treat.  Together with her husband Leonard, they managed the Knights of Columbus for 20 years, which kept her very busy.   She wore many hats there but most of all she enjoyed being a bartender at the club alongside Leonard.  When she wasn’t busy with the Knights of Columbus she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crocheting. She was very proud to have made quilts for all kids, grandkids and great grandkids.   Her biggest joys in life included talking about the achievements of her children and taking in the sporting events of her grandchildren.  She could always be found in the warming area of the hockey arena where her grandchildren were playing hockey.

Geraldine was a very strong lady, with a quick smile, and mischievous grin who will be greatly missed by her son, Randy (Connie) Friesz, Page, ND; daughters, Tina (Tony) George, Cedar Hill, TX, and Tammie (Rick) Alexander, Beulah, ND; grandchildren, Sarah (Brandon) Geray, Katie Friesz, Ben (Megan) Friesz, Tiana (Gabe) George, Trenton George, Kayleen, Brady, and Clarisa Alexander; greatgrandchildren, Cash, Miles. and Scarlett and Braxton and Magnolia; sisters, Darlene (Marvin) Leingang and Marlene (Fred) Braun; brothers, Mike (Carol) Fleck and Arnie (Sandy) Fleck; and sister-in-law, Gerri (Norman) Fleck.

She was greeted at the gates of Heaven by her parents, Mike and Katie; husband, Leonard; infant son, Michael; infant daughter, Tanya; brother, Norman; and sister, Noreen.
