Gail Erdle, 88, passed away April 16, 2023, in Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. She had been a resident at Elm Crest Manor, New Salem, ND, since 2014. Gail will be remembered as a kind woman and devoted wife. Never having children of her own, she was especially fond of children of all ages. Gail liked to tease others, always with a broad smile on her face.
Gail was born to Earl and Fern Blomquist on June 13, 1934, in Minot, ND. A childhood survivor of polio, she graduated from Minot Model High School in 1951. Gail married Duane Gliege, and the couple made their home in Sawyer, ND. She belonged to the local homemakers group for many years. Duane subsequently passed away. On December 2, 1995, Gail married Otto Erdle of Mandan, ND, and the couple lived in the city. They were members of First Lutheran Church in Mandan, where Gail was active with the women's group. Otto passed away on October 22, 2008.
A memorial service will be held May 16, at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Elm Crest Manor. Family graveside burial will take place afterward at Memorial Union Cemetery in Mandan.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and brother and sister-inlaw, Jim and Dolores Blomquist. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
