Frank Tschida

Frank M. Tschida, 84, of Mandan, ND, passed away August 24, 2020 at Miller Pointe, Mandan.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND with Deacon Randy Frohlich as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Huff, ND, immediately following the service.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Frank M. Tschida was born on February 7, 1936 to Lawrence and Rose (Schaff) Tschida. He was raised on a farm south of Mandan. Frank had numerous jobs under the supervision of Pride, Inc., which gained him many friends. Frank was a very kind, gentle person and liked by all who cared for him. When asked how he was doing his answer was always “I’m good, I’m always good”. Even during his declining years, he never complained.

Frank was an outdoor person who loved nature and enjoyed all wildlife. Hunting and trapping coyotes, prairie dogs, and raccoons was his favorite. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating with his family. One of his most loved past-times was to go joyriding and driving through car lots to look at all the new cars.

Frank was an early riser each morning, and while on the farm he would roundup all the milk cows. He always knew where to find the cows no matter the weather. He didn’t enjoy milking, so that job was left for his siblings.

Frank will be dearly missed by his sisters, Elizabeth Tschida-Peterson, Kennweicky, WA, Mary Tschida-Everson, West Salem, WI, Agnes Schumacher, Bismarck, and Rose Tschida, Mandan; sisters-in-law, Marleen Tschida, Mandan, Betty Tschida, Fort Meade, FL, and Carlene Tschida, Lake Wales, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mike, Joe, Dan, Leo, and Gabe; and sister, Helen Miller.

The family wishes to thank Pride, Inc. for the many years of good service and care they gave Frank, and most recently the wonderful care at Miller Pointe Care Center in Mandan.

A very special thank you goes to his former guardian, Mavis Jundt, and his present guardian Marissa for all their wonderful and loving care.
