Floyd P. Roehrich, 89, Mandan, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones on March 13, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Home in Mandan.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with Fr. Josh Waltz celebrating. Burial of cremains will follow the service at the ND Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-6 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary and Parish Vigil at 6 PM. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Floyd was born April 23, 1934, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Pius and Ann (Mosset) Roehrich. He attended St. Mary’s Grade School and High School, participating in football and basketball, and graduated in 1953. In December 1953, Floyd enlisted in the US Air Force, serving 34 months during the German Occupation. He was honorably discharged in August 1957 from Fort Dix in New Jersey. Returning home to ND, he married Beatrice Schwind on April 3, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bismarck. Floyd was employed at the ND DOT from June 1958 to October 1984. He then transferred to OMB and later retired in December 1996.
Floyd enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife. Also, he liked classical and easy listening country music and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren, attending school and sporting events whenever possible. Floyd always looked forward to going south during the winter months.
Blessed to have shared in his life is his wife, Beatrice, Mandan, sons: Greg (Linda), Wenatchee, WA, Floyd (Lynn), Tempe, AZ, Perry, Mandan, ND, Rod (Barb), Mandan, ND, Paul (Cindy), Mandan and Tom (Shawn), West Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Edith, Virginia, Bernice and twin sister, Florence.
