Eddy was born December 20, 1967, to Edward and Viola (Hellman) Bachler in Mandan, ND.  He graduated from Almont High School in 1986.  After graduation, Eddy worked on the family farm and later decided to continue his education at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND, where he went to culinary school.  After college, Eddy relocated to Des Moines, IA where he began his restaurant and service career with the Flying J Travel Plaza.  In August 1997, Eddy moved back to North Dakota to begin a lifelong career in the food industry.  He was employed by Food Services of America as a Sales Representative and later as a District Sales Manager.  He continued to work for FSA, and Cash Wa Distributing who purchased FSA in October 2020.  He retired after 28.5 years with FSA/Cash Wa Distributing on December 31, 2021, due to health reasons.

Eddy married Denise Hoger on July 6, 1990, in New Salem, ND. They made their home in Des Moines, IA where their son Ryan was born.   After moving back to Bismarck, they welcomed their daughter Haley.

Eddy’s hobbies included running, camping, golfing, playing pool, cooking and entertaining others, and anything else that included smiles and laughter.  His favorite sports teams were the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Wild, NDSU Bison as well as any Mandan Brave sporting activity.

Eddy was extremely supportive and proud of his children and grandchild.  He spent many weekends during the summer months supporting Ryan at motocross tracks across North Dakota and Minnesota.  During the winter months he could be found at gymnasiums supporting Haley in her travelling basketball tournaments.  Most recently, Eddy felt so privileged to be able to welcome a son-in-law to the family, whom he adored as his own.  Eddy’s eyes lit up every time his granddaughter Natalie walked through the door, and she was greeted with “There’s my little Natalie”.

Eddy will be deeply missed by his wife, Denise; his son, Ryan Bachler of Mandan; his daughter and son-in-law Haley and Tyler Wehri of Mandan; very special granddaughter, Natalie Bachler of Lincoln; and Mother Viola Bachler, Mandan.  Eddy is also survived by his siblings Dean Bachler, Almont; Pat (Rick) Frohlich, Mandan; Renee Bachler, St Paul, MN; Pam (Bill) Willman, Almont; Annette (Brian) Bieber, Bismarck; Joel (June) Bachler, Almont; and Anthony (Sue) Bachler, Almont.  He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Daniel and Ruby Hoger, New Salem; in-laws Wayne and Diane Hoger, New Salem; Bruce and Sheryl Hoger, Commerce City, CO; Darrin Hoger, New Salem; and Dawn and Leo Bender, Mandan.
