Dianne M. Schaedler

Dianne M. Schaedler, 82, of Mandan, passed away January 22, 2023, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Dianne was born September 6, 1940, in Mandan, ND, to Bernard and Rose (Kopa) Smith. She was raised on the family farm and attended grade school at a nearby one room schoolhouse. She later moved to Mandan and attended high school, graduating in Mandean’s Class of 1958.

On September 21, 1963, Dianne married Erwin Schaedler at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Huff, ND. They made their home in Mandan and were married 49 years before Erwin’s passing on June 25, 2012. Dianne devoted her life to her family, multitasking between her home, children, farm, and caring for her aging parents. She loved children immensely and often babysat for various neighbors, relatives, and friends. She was a wonderful cook and spent most of her time in the kitchen.

Dianne will be deeply missed by her sons, Michael Schaedler and Todd Schaedler both of Huff, ND; daughters, Stacey Schaedler (Theron Weisenburger) and Kristey Schaedler (Clifford Miller) all of Mandan, ND; special grandson, Damian Schaedler of Mandan, ND; special cousin, Charlyn Peterson, Eua Clair, WI; special friends, Sharlene Grosgebauer, Huff, ND, Esther Eckman, Mandan, ND, and Debbie Markel, Mandan, ND; and her dogs, Letty and Laney.

Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
