Diana Lea Bernhardt, age 89, passed into eternity on January 9, 2026 in River Falls, Wisconsin.
Diana was born on May 18, 1936, in Mandan, ND, to Joseph and Evelyn Barron. She grew up in Mandan and as a child especially loved horseback riding. In 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Ervin Bernhardt, and they settled in Rochester, MN to raise a family.
In the prime of her life, she gave her time to her family, to creative endeavors, and to socializing with good friends. She loved playing Bridge, cooking, sewing, and craft making. Her faith was paramount to her, and she spent much time in prayer for her loved ones. Thousands of rosaries were said for them!
Diana dedicated her life to her husband, her family, and her faith. She especially loved her five grandchildren and dedicated much of her time to them. She was very active in their lives as they grew up. She will be greatly missed!
She is survived by her two daughters, Traci (Fabian) Campion and Melissa (Robin) Baker; her five grandchildren, Emily (Sterling) Hackney, Andrew (Eilee) Campion, Michael (Karissa) Campion, James Campion, and Alex Baker; her two great-grandchildren, Rowan Hackney and Adam Campion; and by her brother, Jim (Georgia) Barron.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ervin F. Bernhardt; her parents, Evelyn and Joseph Barron; and her two sisters, Karalyn and Joan Barron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Church of St. Joseph in Mandan, ND with Fr. Josh Waltz as celebrant. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bismarck, ND following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to a local pro-life organization.
