Coletta Monson was born to Gilbert and Gertrude (Peterman) Monson on November 22, 1938 in Flasher. She was raised and educated in the Flasher area, graduating from Flasher High School in 1956. On September 30, 1956, Coletta married Raymond R. Kuhn in Bismarck, ND. Together they raised their family in the Flasher. Bowling was one of her favorite activities; she belonged to a women’s league in both Flasher and Mandan. Coletta was also very active in the Flasher Auxiliary.

Family was the most important thing in Coletta’s life. She loved family trips, whether it was camping, fishing, or going with the Monson family. Playing Canasta with family was also one of her favorites. In later years, Coletta especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She could often be seen cheering them on at sporting/school events. Family gatherings during the Holidays are cherished memories we won’t soon forget.

Coletta will be deeply missed by her daughters, Joletta Kuhn, Omaha, NE; Valerie (Joe) Sundsbak, Bastrop, TX; and Charlene (Jeff) Olsen, Mandan; sons, Raymond, Jr. (Cathy), Bismarck; Mike (Shanna), Williston; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marianne (Jim) Soriano, Renton, WA; and Lynette (Jim) Schmeichel, Flasher; one brother, Ronald Monson, Bismarck.

Coletta was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Raymond, who died in 2011.
