Cletus Schaff, 66, Mandan, died June 24, 2015 at his residence in Mandan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, ND with Msgr. James Braaten as celebrant. Inurnment will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Flasher, ND.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Cletus P. Schaff was born on July 12, 1948 in Bismarck, ND, the son of William A. and Caroline (Barth) Schaff. He was raised in the Flasher, ND area. Cletus graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Cletus went to work for White Motor Company for twenty years. His job took him to many different countries, mostly Africa, teaching people how to run the equipment. He also spent quite a bit of time in Texas. He worked for Twin City Implement for ten years, until his retirement.

Cletus enjoyed holidays and playing cards. Hunting and fishing brought him much joy. He loved being outdoors, especially anywhere that had water. Cletus was a talented cook and Tex-Mex dishes were his specialty.

Cletus will be missed by his mother, Caroline Schaff, Mandan; three brothers, Victor (Susan), Carpinteria, CA, Vernon (Nettie), Zapata, TX, Harold (Cheryl), Goleta, CA. three sisters, Sherry (Jason) Sommer, Solvang, CA, Annette (James) Bartlett, Los Angeles, CA, Betty Nell (Floyd) Schafer, Rapid City, SD.

He was preceded in death by his father, William, in 2000 and his brother, Willard in 2010..
