Brooke Lynn (McCone) Gerhardt, age 29, passed away January 30, 2023, at Sanford Hospital from complications of cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with Rev. Phil Leer officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.
Brooke was born November 3, 1993, in Bismarck to Pat McCone and Stacie Flinn. Stacie married Gerald Moldenhauer, and together they raised and educated Brooke in Flasher, ND where she excelled at volleyball and basketball. Gerald became a large part of her childhood and they developed a bond that carried a special friendship throughout her life. Brooke graduated in 2012, and then attended the Hair Academy, graduating in the fall of 2013.
Brooke’s most precious pride and joy, Hadley May McCone, was born in May 2013. She loved being Hadley’s mom and they were the best of friends.
In June 2021, Brooke married Shilo Gerhardt. Together they made their home in Selfridge on a ranch that she & Hadley loved dearly. Brooke enjoyed the ability to have a number of pets, especially her Great Dane, Jett. She cherished her time in Selfridge where hunting and exploring became her love. As a family, they would spend hours exploring the area, taking long walks, and hunting for antler sheds. She also acquired a lot of new friends while helping the family at the Branding Iron Bar & Steakhouse. Later she would love recounting their adventures to anyone that would listen.
Brooke loved being a cosmetologist and doing hair, but her current position was her true calling. As a paraprofessional, she worked with young children at Mclaughlin School, where she enjoyed every minute.
Brooke was diagnosed in November of 2019 with metastatic breast cancer. She received treatment from Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck and MAYO Clinic in Rochester, MN. Brooke loved the time she spent with her Dad, Pat. He took her to every treatment in Rochester. Despite a courageous fight, it took a toll on her body and heart.
Brooke is survived by husband, Shilo; daughter, Hadley; parents, Pat McCone and Stacie & Gerald Moldenhauer; grandparents, Chuck & Vicki Flinn; uncle and aunt, Bill & Tammie Bennett; uncle, Mike Moldenhauer; father and mother-in-law, Steve & Marge Gerhardt; brother and sisters-in-law, Sheldon & Amanda Gerhardt and their daughter; Sherry (Gerhardt) & Jarrod Becker and their children; Stephanie (Gerhardt) Lopez and her children; Sonya (Gerhardt) and Cory Sherva and their boys; stepsister, Bobbi (Moldenhauer) Salberg; stepbrother, Gus (Moldenhauer) Kronberg; stepsisters, Cassie Lang, Chelsey Lang, Kat Heckman, Chris Lang, Brittney Mattoon, and Nicole Rohrich; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting Life.”
