Becky was born on July 18, 1973 in Bismarck to Jerome and Betty Graner. After a few years living in Bismarck, they moved to Mandan where Becky still resided at the time of her passing.
Growing up, Becky enjoyed Girl Scouts, played in the High School marching band, she made friends literally anywhere she went. Her cousin Sheila dubbed her “Schinickelfritz” and the nickname more or less stuck the rest of her life. Her trademark brunette hair combined with that infectious smile would accompany her through the years, even as MS began to make her life a constant struggle. She rarely complained as the disease weakened her body-but not her will.
As a beautician, Becky worked her magic with each and every client until it was no longer possible to continue working her passion.
The best day of Becky’s life was when her daughter DessaRae was born to her and Kelly and that feeling remained true until her last moment.
The last 12 years of Becky’s life was spent in various nursing homes, from Harvey to Bismarck and finally back to Mandan. A heartfelt thank you to every doctor, nurse, CNA and staff member who helped her with the day to day in the nursing homes and hospitals that she stayed at through the years.
Becky was no longer able to use her hands, Alexa was her best friend-always giving her mom and sister a nightly call and rundown of the day’s events and what the supper menu was, as well as the latest rumor mill. She was the biggest fan of the TV show “Shark Tank”.
She had a photogenic memory when it came to phone numbers, all you had to do was call her up and ask her for it. She never missed birthdays, always fielding a call to whoever was celebrating their special day.
The last decade of Becky’s life was filled with happy memories of family, holidays, birthdays and other memorable events. This past Christmas was in her words “the best Christmas of my life!”
Becky is survived by her daughter, DessaRae Schultz; her mother, Betty Graner; her sister, Brenda (Keith) Osborn; nieces: Kylie (Terry) Brendel and Brittany (Derek) Beechie; nephew, Tanner (Mariah) Osborn; great nephews: Kayden Brendel, Bennett & Colter Beechie, Paxton Osborn and great niece, Eden Beechie. Included are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her special best friend Melissa Zins.
She was preceded in death by her father Jerome Graner, grandparents: Rose and Jacob Vogel and Evelyn and Raymond Graner and Kelly Schultz.
