Ann M. Hatzenbuhler, 90, Mandan, passed away December 16, 2016 at Sanford Health Continuing Care Center off Collins in Mandan after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a CDA Rosary and CTK Christian Mothers Rosary at 7:00 and a Parish Vigil at 7:15 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday

Ann was born on March 15, 1926 to John and Elizabeth (Wetsch) Schmidt in Odense, ND. She married John A. Hatzenbuhler on June 3, 1946 and together they had five children.

Ann graduated from Mandan High School. She was the twin to her brother, John. Ann loved to visit and was the social butterfly of every event. Her home was open to anyone and had a strong sense of hospitality. Ann loved to entertain in her home. Ann's hobbies included cards and puzzles. Her faith was strong and included daily mass and prayer and especially her involvement with the Liturgy where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and proudly loved to do the scriptural readings. Her greatest pride was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her grace, sweet disposition and strong faith, the love of people, and life, which stayed with her until the end.

Ann will be deeply missed by her husband, John; daughters, Evie Berger, Carlene (Don) Friesz, Karen (Leon) Glasser, all of Mandan; son, John, Mandan; daughter-in-law, LaVonne Hatzenbuhler, Mandan, sister, Helen (Tony) Hatzenbuhler, Mandan; sisters-in-law, Annie Schmidt, Tacoma, WA, Clara Schmidt, Tacoma, WA, Viola Schmidt, Highland, CA, Rosemary Schmidt, Highland, CA; 11 grandchildren, Tanya, Dion, Geneo, Dan, Dana, Monte, Donovan, Holly, Dustin, Delaney and Gayle; 20 great-grandchildren, Austin, Lucas, Dylan, Geneo, Jack, Charlie, Tate, Dash, Ripp, Austin, Kianna, Kalyn, Anna, Grace, Maggie, Sidney, Santanah, Dawson, Brooklyn and Gabe.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald; son-in-law, Gene Berger; sisters, Bertha and Brigetta, Barbara (Johnny) Hilfer, Ida (John) Thomas, Rose (Joe) Thomas and Caroline (Daniel) O'Neill; brothers, Phillip (Katie) Schmidt, Tony (Juanita), George, John (Eleanore), Mike, Gus and Tom.
