Arthur Swap

Arthur "Larry" Swap, 75, Mandan, died peacefully March 10, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 pm followed by a Parish Vigil. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Arthur was born May 5, 1941 to Everett and Marjorie (Stevens) Swap in Superior, WI. He served proudly as a United States Marine. Arthur married Dorothy Schwartzbauer on April 4, 1964 in St. Anthony, ND.

Arthur was a ceramic tile setter until recently. He spent the last 28 years working for House of Color. He took great pride in his work and was very dedicated to doing a good job. Arthur was very handy and had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Arthur was a member of the Knights of Columbus once serving as Grand Knight, the AMVETS, Elks and the Bismarck Eagles Clubs. He was also a member of Christ the King parish.

Arthur will be deeply missed by his wife of nearly 53 years, Dorothy; daughters, Laura (Randy) Mildenberger, Mandan, Jennifer (Scott) Vogel, Bismarck, and Lisa (Jason) Kastrow, Belfield; 6 grandchildren, Malory Mildenberger, Mandy Mildenberger and special friend Westin Grove, Tyler and Brayden Kastrow, Gabriella and Brynn Vogel; brothers, Chuck (Jessie), Ramsey, MN, Kenny (Wendy), Anoka, MN and Steve (Linda), Elk River, MN; sister, Julie (Scott) Trenholm, Princeton, MN; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Marjorie and his brother, Scott.
