Ann Zins was born to Florian and Ottilia (Hellman) Hoff on July 29, 1921, in Blue Grass. She graduated from the 8th grade in 1935. Ann married the love of her life, Leander Zins, on Oct. 24, 1939, at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church near Raleigh. They farmed together in the Raleigh area for 34 years, during which time they raised their family of 17 children. After Leander passed away on Nov. 27, 1973, Ann farmed with her son Florian until she moved to Flasher in the fall of 1987 to relax and enjoy her retirement. While in Flasher, she continued her hobbies of sewing, quilting, gardening and watching her much beloved TV show, Jeopardy. Ann very much enjoyed belonging to the Quilters Club and the Christian Mothers. Because of her love for learning and education, she studied for and obtained her GED in 1989. The diploma was framed and occupied a place of honor on her kitchen wall. Her children were so proud of her.

Ann will be deeply missed by her daughters, Mary Ann (Raymond) Paluck, Belfield, Kathy Zins, Anchorage, Alaska, Jeanette Bock, Anchorage, Pauline (Gerald) Hirning, Elk River, Minn., Irene (Mike) Voth, St. Cloud, Minn., Patricia (Clif) Nelson, Mandan, Dorothy (Jerry) Beaudoin, West Fargo, Elaine (Cy) Byrd, Fresno Calif., Rosalie Zins-Reuter, Gwinner, Leah Zins, Edina Minn., and Christine (Kevin) Condelario, Casper, Wyo.; her sons, Leander Jr., Elgin, John (Bonnie), Flasher, the Rev.
