William Ferderer

William "Bill" Ferderer, 91, Mandan, died April 27, 2015 at Sanford Continuing Care Center off Collins in Mandan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Agnes Larkin Center at Christ the King Catholic Church; with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 followed by a Parish Vigil at 7:15 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Bill was born on October 2, 1923 to Ralph and Margaret (Hoffman) Ferderer in Crown Butte, ND. Bill was raised and educated in the Crown Butte area. He married Clara Hoffman on October 22, 1945 in Center, ND. They made their home on the farm where they lived for 47 years before moving to Mandan. Bill was an active member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Crown Butte, ND and held various offices for the St. Vincent and St. Anthony Verein. He also was a 4th degree of the Knights of Columbus.

Bill was a friendly, positive man who would help anyone that needed it. His love for his family, church and community showed everyday by his actions. He loved to play pinochle and bingo and he also volunteered at Liberty Heights Senior Center. He was very musically inclined playing numerous instruments by ear.

Bill will be deeply missed by his wife of 69 years Clara of Mandan; daughters, Theodora "Teddi" (Robert) Blotske, Bismarck, ND and Joyce (Duane(Tony) Hofmann, Medina, ND; sons, William G. Ferderer, Jr., Nevada, Michael J., and Kenneth R. (Gwen) Ferderer both of Mandan, ND; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, George (Lula) Ferderer, Mandan, ND; sister, Catherine Erhardt, Center, ND; sister-in-laws, Irene Ferderer, Clem Hoff and Irene Miller all of Mandan, ND; Josephine Mosbrucker and Lorraine Hoffman both of Bismarck, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale (Jan Erickson) Ferderer; grandchild, Nina and great-grandchildren, Saige Blotske and Anna Hofmann; sisters, Eva (Joe) Weber and Margaret (Jack) Hopfauf; brother, Roy Ferderer; brother in-law, Max Erhardt; sister-in-law, Eleanor Cook.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Right to Life Organization.
