Regina Bingert

Regina (Jeanie) Catherine Bingert, 91, died peacefully on January 17, 2015 at Sanford Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 from 5:30-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND, with a Parish Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Jeanie was born on March 7, 1923 to Nick & Mary (Tavis) Gauer in Glen Ullin, ND and graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1941. In 1942 she went to Tacoma, Washington, where she was the private secretary for the president of the Seattle – Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation. Jeanie had the honor of christening a ship built for the British Royal Navy.

After the war, Jeanie returned to Glen Ullin and married Carl Bingert of Hebron, ND on May 1, 1946. They had three children; Paulette, Daniel, and Charles.

Jeanie enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, and especially playing bingo at the Primrose Assisted Living Center, where she has resided for the past 11 years. She was a great lover of music, especially Lawrence Welk and Daniel O’Donnell. She enjoyed following her favorite sports teams on TV and spending summer weekends at her cabin on Lake Tschida.

Jeanie is survived by her three children: Paulette (Greg) Kraiter – Harwood, ND; Daniel Bingert – Wichita, KS; Charles (Jean) Bingert – Mandan, ND. Five grandchildren: Karla Seibel (Jeff), Kent (Jen) Kraiter, and Kyle, Matthew, and Danielle Bingert. Three great-grandchildren: Allison Seibel (Will), Hannah and Kaylee Kraiter. Her sister Leanor Erling – Jamestown, ND; two special nieces Phyllis Mormann and Nicolette Schneider, and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; her parents; two brothers Louie and Walter Gauer; five sisters, Loretta Schmidt, Frances Mormann, Ann Marie Gauer, Margaret Doyle, and Agnes Gauer.
