Larry Lambrecht

Larry D. Lambrecht, 81, Mandan, died July 11, 2015 at his residence in Mandan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at ND Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 16, 2015.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Catholic Daughters Rosary at 7:00 pm followed by a Parish Vigil. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Larry was born on April 30, 1934 to George and Hilda (Bean) Lambrecht in Kensal, ND. He was raised and educated in the Kensal area. He married Cecelia Keller on October 8, 1988 in Bismarck.

Larry joined the U.S. Air Force after high school and was an active member for 23 years. He then retired and went to work for Bobcat for 18 years. Larry was very social in his community and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, AmVets, American Legion, VFW, and NCOA. He had a very reserved but tactful personality due to his military background, but had an extremely funny sense of humor.

Larry was an avid basketball and baseball fan. His favorite teams were the Minnesota Twins, Atlanta Braves, and the Chicago Cubs. His love for the game started when he played in high school. Larry’s hobbies included hunting and fishing with his brothers and nephews. His nephews were always eager to partake in the goodies after each trip. Larry loved his country western music and would always be dancing. He also loved to watch Wheel of Fortune. This special man will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his loving devotion to his family, friends, and community.

Larry will be deeply missed by his wife, Cecilia Lambrecht, Mandan; daughters, Vicki Lambrecht, Mandan, Deana (Dan) Feist, Bismarck; step-daughters, Charolette Kitzan, Mandan, Laurie Ann (Steve) Mossett, Livermore, CA; sons, James (Martha) Lambrecht, Alamogordo, NM; step-son, Patrick Bieber, Bismarck; sister, Gloria Olson, Rosemound, MN; brothers, Gordon (Kathy) Lambrecht, Lincoln, NE, Greg (Sandee) Lambrecht, Jamestown, ND; sisters-in-law, Margaret Lambrecht, Jamestown, Yvonne Lambrecht, Tioga; 3 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 7 step-great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Harvey Bieber; brother-in-law, Gene Olson; brothers, George Jr., and Darrel; and 2 grandsons.
