Helena Rose Harsche was born on July 2, 1930 on the family farm near Shields, ND to Henry and Brigetta (Klein) Harsche. She was one of nine children and very much loved working on the farm with her brothers and sisters. She was proud of her accomplishment as an honor roll student while attending high school. Helena loved to attend dances in the area, where she met the love of her life, Jacob (Jake) Loeb. They were married on June 30, 1952 and moved to Bismarck to start their lives together. Together they had two daughters, Anita and Marilyn.
Words cannot describe the warm and giving heart of Helen. She welcomed everyone into her home with a fresh pot of homemade soup or homemade pickles and banana peppers. Jake and Helen enjoyed their boat and motor home to the fullest. Helen enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, playing cards, crossword puzzles, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. She will be remembered dearly for her faith, strength, childlike joy, positive disposition and compassion. She was the centerpiece of the family, and a vibrant member of the church and community.
Blessed to have shared her life her is husband of 62 years Jacob; her two daughters, Anita (Mark) Neels and Marilyn (Oryn) Wagner; 5 grandchildren, Andrea Matties and Aaron (Hollie) Matties; Cole Delmore, Tana (Travis) Sukauskas and Chad (Jamie) Wagner; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lucas, Seth, McKenna, Haley, Grayson, Estella, May, Ted and Cate.
