Anton Fleck

Anton T. “Tony” Fleck, 81, Elgin, died August 9, 2014 at Jacobsen Memorial Hospital in Elgin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Christopher Kadrmas as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Anton was born on February 27, 1933 to Anton J. and Monica (Berger) Fleck in rural Solen, ND. He was educated at St. Peter & Paul’s in Fallon, ND. He worked on the family farm with his two brothers, Val and Jerome. He also enjoyed fixing fence and was a perfectionist in all he did. He was always willing and able to help anybody that would ask and would work for other local farmers and ranchers.

Tony loved to read and keep up with world events. He enjoyed attending many family functions with his brother and best friend, Jerome. Tony was a very gentle soul. He had great pride for his country which he demonstrated as he raised the United States Flag daily at his residence, Dakota Hills in Elgin.

Tony will be deeply missed by his sisters, Hildegarde (Martin) Morrell, Mandan, Lenore (Leonard) Haider, Mandan, Clara (Melvin) Beckler, Hazen and Bernie (Rick) Warhurst, Bismarck; brothers, Val (Doris), Flasher, Melvin (Shirley), Mandan, Leonard (Karen) Mandan and Richard, Bismarck and sister-in-law, Cecelia Geiger, Mandan along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Adeline Vogel; infant brothers, Alphonse and Casper and brothers, Lucas and Jerome; sister-in-law, Maggie Fleck and brother-in-law, Harold Schlinger.

We would like to thank the Dakota Hills and Elgin Hospital staff for the wonderful care that Tony received.
